Ask HN: Realistic yet entertaining fiction books about hacking?

1 pointsby mcbetzabout 9 years ago
I recently read Millenium Series Book 4, The Girl in the spider&#x27;s web, and found that Lagercrantz&#x27; depiction of the hacking Lisbeth Salander was pretty realistic and good. I read quite a few thrillers that came nowhere close. They either did not talk about social engineering or did not describe the tools used at all or simply were factually wrong. Of course mainstream fiction cannot go too deep but I think there are better and worse examples of describing hacking.<p>I wondered which other books you could advice to read?
