Paperspace (YCW15, www.paperspace.com) is growing quickly and we are looking for an experienced network engineer to help run our cloud. In this role you will help architect and build-out our hardware and cloud orchestration layer. We are pushing streaming technology, GPUs, and the limits of cloud virtualization.<p>The ideal candidate understands the current landscape of cloud computing environments and has worked on distributed, large-scale, and fault-tolerant systems.
You will be responsible for all aspects of our cloud/backend (storage, networking and compute) running in our data centers. Experience working with Xen or KVM. You will work closely with our software development team, so programming experience is ideal but this is primarily a networking/linux administration role.<p>Preferred Qualifications:
- Substantial background in large scale network design
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex network projects
- Experience with capacity planning, utilization review & performance monitoring
- Must be comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience automating network deployment and operations
- Possess superb troubleshooting and problem analysis skills
- Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations via automation
- Understand how commodity servers, operating systems and networks function, perform and scale
- Some programming / scripting experience (Go, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C/C++)
- Experience with security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls.<p>We are based in NYC but have a distributed team around the world. This position requires that you be located in the Bay Area or (preferably) in NYC.<p>careers@paperspace.com
