Ask HN: Is it okay to not sending monthly receipt to users?

3 pointsby bwang29almost 9 years ago
There are various SAAS service/analytics/marketing services that we subscribe to and it seems like companies do make decisions differently. For example, we receipt a receipt of $20 from GitHub every month but we don't receive receipt (and there isn't an option to do so) from AdEspresso albeit we receipt marking emails from them all the time. One day we found that we've been quietly subscribing to AdEspresso for months on their $149 plan while not using the product, and in this case according to their TOS, we can't get any refund from it (obviously). Is this common? If I remembered correctly, LinkedIn also didn't send receipt on their monthly subscription a year ago.
