Ask HN: Architecturing a life

2 pointsby shash7over 8 years ago
Body: I am a 23 year old living in Melbourne and doing undergrad. I also work as a freelance web designer. I have a lot of open source projects under my belt and I am pretty good at what I do.
I will be finishing my studies in about three months. After that I am looking to find a job.
Here's the problem; I am bored of the 9-5 job cycle and don't want to work in the IT industry. I preferably want to apply my IT skills in another industry and get a job where I don't need to work 9-5 hours. Ideally this job will require travelling to new places, not necessarily to new countries but that is ok. Money is not a big focus at the moment but it should be atleast 55-60k per annum.
Anyone who has been in this scenario, can you give me some guidance?
Cheers
