Interviewed is hiring a Ruby engineer and 2 others. We're profitable and remote

1 pointsby darrennixover 8 years ago
Interviewed (YC S15) builds job assessments that let candidates demonstrate their real world skills so that hiring managers don't have to rely on resumes, behavioral interviews, and personality tests -- which are inherently flawed. By completing job simulations, instead, the best candidates stand out regardless of their educational background or years of experience. Our customers love it.
As an engineer at Interviewed, here's what you can expect:
- Our team of 13 is remote spread across six cities in the US and South America. Makes timezones easy.
- Mostly Rails and React, with some Python for ML.
- We ship new capabilities often and quickly by explicitly asking ourselves the 80/20 question often.
- We care about making beautiful, intuitive UX.
- Philosophically, we love it when something is NIH ("not invented here"). We actively look for specialized services that we can outsource capabilities to like PDF conversion, image manipulation, audio transcription, etc. instead of rolling our own.
As a company, Interviewed is a year and half old and we just hit profitability! We still have 2 years of cash in the bank left from our $2.4M seed round, so we are financially secure and have no need to raise additional capital.
Our hiring process is simple and focused on letting you show off your skills -- not your resume. As soon as you contact us, we'll reply with an invite to tell us about a particular dev situation. The purpose is to see how well you communicate in writing -- an important skill for remote teams.
The second stage is a phone call to get to know you and a 1-hour work sample where you get to build a feature on a real-world git repo (no algorithms).
The final stage is a (paid) one or two-day project to implement a significant feature and interact with the team over Slack and Google Hangouts. This is the ultimate job preview for you and for us!
Please email me directly at daniel@interviewed.com or you can see all our openings at https://internal.interviewed.com
