My wife, who's a photographer, says some well known art schools produce artists
with a similar styles. She wanted to know if the same was true of programming
schools. Of the top of my head the best I could think of was:<p>* The CMU programmers I've worked with tended to use A.I. techniques as their tool of choice.<p>* The Stanford programmers seemed to care the most about metrics.<p>* RPI programmers tended to care the most about the business domain.<p>* MIT programmers tended to favor low level solutions/rolling their own solution.<p>But the sample size for all of these is ~5 per school. What does HN think?
