This is great news! Congrats on the launch. How is the performance compared to the other Level 3/4 load balancers, like HAProxy, NginX, AWS ELB, and GCE's Cloud Load Balancer?
disclosure: rust core team member
This is extremely exciting! I love the linkerd concept, but couldn't justify bringing the JVM into our architecture in the major way that a full-scale linkerd rollout would entail. Next step, namerd in Rust?
Is linkerd-tcp able to preserve Source IP when doing TCP load balancing? I was under the impression that this had to be done at the kernel level with something such as IPTables. Or does linkerd-tcp have a kernel module that allows it to achieve this functionality?
Well this looks exciting! So impressed with quality of stuff coming out of cncf.
I'm evaluating linkerd in our k8s clusters right now so it will be interesting to see how this fits in. Is it designed to drop in for ingress like nginx/traefik works?
This is very cool.
Are you working with the k8s teams for the sidecar spec...Or whatever SIG is working on unifying the Ingress vs Service debate.
It would be cool to have a k8s distribution with linkerd doing the Ingress and proxying.
