I'm a PhD student in quantitative marketing. A major bottleneck for people like me is getting data. Students at the top schools get data from advisors, but there are lots of students who would benefit in a major way from better access to data.
I'm thinking of starting a platform for transactions where PhD students get data from startups in return for either money or services. It'd be a data marketplace.
I know from my end that PhD students are willing to do basically free work to get the data, or they may have funding to buy data from startups (if they didn't want to be time constrained, for example).
But what about startups? If you could sell your data, under an NDA, would you? Would you be interested in PhD student help for studying business problems?
