My story, very silly:
Windows was consuming all my Internet data.
I had a laptop back in college days. It came with Windows 7. I was already experimenting with Linux distros and it was fun. But that's not the reason.
We used mobile dongle for Internet. I could not afford fancy data plans. There was one particular plan which allowed me to have 25MB/day. This suited my needs. But you know what, Windows ate all my data. I had no idea which application was calling its home.
And the other reason was,the CPU fans was always spinning aloud. During idle(when user not interacting), all four CPU slots were crunching data.
I felt like a my computer was cheating on me. That's enough. Ditching you.
I switched to Linux and never looked back.
I had a HIGH feeling when I completed LFS(Linux From Scratch). Because I knew exactly what my system will do. As well as why.
