Our office has a very noisy ventilation system, so a noise-cancelling headphones help a lot. Over the years I tried pretty much every noise cancelling on-the-ear and over-the-ear headphones in the sub-$500 range. I have no idea how Bose QC35 and Sony MDR-1000X received "top picks" in online reviews. To my taste they put way too much pressure on the head and have relatively thin pads, making them unbearable just after an hour.
Up until last week I had AKG N60 (wired) and Beoplay H8. I had them both on my desk and I was alternating between them. H8 has a better noise isolation (larger cups), but was less comfortable to me over long periods.
Then I noticed that AKG released a "wireless" version of N60. I bought them and I loved them! They have bigger cups than "classic" N60 and block noise much better. The cups are still slightly smaller (and I think softer) than H8, making them bearable for a full-day wear. AKG also replaced the plastic swivel with the metal one (this was the source of many negative reviews of N60s)
So if you are looking for a new office headphones - make sure to check them out.
