I have in mind is a platform that lets anyone donate money to those less well off. The only measure of how well off you are is how much you donate. The system takes the money donated and every month it averages the donations. If you donated more than average you get nothing, if you donated less than average you get topped up to the average. The system is built on a blockchain, where each person who donates has a verifiable real world identity (let’s say their picture and their fingerprint, as an example) and all the funds they donate and get back are fully transparent.
I’m trying to think through the permutations of all this, because I actually think it could be robust and self-regulating, e.g. in general it just moves money from people with more money to people with less money, no strings attached.
I am absolutely aware that this is potentially open to gaming, money laundering, and a zillion other bad behaviors, what I'm wondering is whether there is a way to make it self-regulating to the point where I just want to give a dollar to someone that has less money than I do and the system does that.
