Ask HN: Stress/Load test from different geographical locations

1 pointsby paliopolisalmost 8 years ago
I have been trying to find a solution to stress test a site for one of my clients. I want to be able to stress test the site from different locations across the globe i.e. Europe, US and Asia.
Searching on HN did not show any options that I can use, some of the results recommend solutions that can be installed locally (jMeter, locust etc.) to test[0].
One of the options is to fire up VM instances on AWS or GCP in different regions and us Apache benchmark or locust or Jmeter and then test but this does not seem to be the most optimal solution.
How do you test your website/app from different geographical locations? I am looking for recommendations/solutions. Thank you.
[0]https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11504454
