New app to track Ethereum price and trends

2 pointsby splittydevover 7 years ago
Hey, I'm a software developer and recently I've been looking for a lightweight Android app to keep track of Ethereum price development and market cap. Most of the apps available were either too heavy, spammed full-screen ads all the time, or just looked really, really ugly.
I ended up visiting coinmarketcap.com every time to check the price, but let's be honest, doing that on a mobile phone all the time is just annoying. Also, the chart takes ages to load (at least for me).
> Bear with me, I know this reads like an advertisement (probably because it is), > but I promise it's worth every penny (it's free).
So, long story short, I decided to write an app that fits my needs. It's available for free on the Google Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splittydev.ethereum
The app is very lightweight (just 4mb) and shows Ethereum price, price development, market cap, trading volume, supply, and a trend chart for the last 24 hours.
I designed an elegant dark theme that's easy on the eyes (you can switch to the legacy light theme in the settings if you like) and the live data is pulled from coincap.io every 10 seconds.
Also, the app requires no permissions.
Full disclosure, there is one small banner ad at the bottom of the screen that doesn't interfere with the app at all. I promise there are no full-screen ads or anything annoying, and the chances of clicking the ad banner on accident are basically zero.
> TLDR; I wrote an app to keep track Ethereum price and stuff, > and would be very happy if you'd try it.
Of course I'm open to constructive criticism, so go ahead and tell me what you think!
I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about the app. Have a good day!
