I live in Berlin, which has an active startup scene with meetups happening on any given day. They mostly follow the same format (2-3 knowledge-sharing presentations from startups on topics like marketing, their tech-stack, or simply pitches from new startups, followed by networking & drinks). These are hosted for free by more established startups as a way of employer branding.<p>I tried to find events like this in the Bay Area via Meetup.com and Eventbrite, but haven't seen anything comparable, other than purely networking events at Hacker Dojo or recruiting presentations by the tech giants. Am I looking in the wrong places, or are events like this not really a thing in SV?
