I'm a student about to start a graduate capstone project. I have a client who has a proposal for a project that would fit the requirements of my graduate capstone. I'm interested in getting help from my colleagues in my program with the project.
The challenge comes from my reputation in the program. I'm a bit of a loud-mouth smart-alec who is very opinionated and has an answer to everything. On the other hand, I recognize that my peers have a lot of diverse experience, knowledge, and insight that I'm interested to learn from. They could also provide good direction for the project in ways I am too biased to recognize.
What are some ways I can a) encourage my peers to openly share suggestions, criticisms, and questions; and b) shift ownership of the project from me to the team as a whole?
