Ask HN: How to Use HashiCorp Vault for SSH with Windows SSH Clients?

1 pointsby kesoralmost 7 years ago
Any idea if there are utilities that make it easier to use Vault for SSH access when users are using windows as their workstation?
The Vault's SSH OTP is annoying if you expect users that login to hundreds of servers every day to run a CLI command each time.
As far as I know, Vault's CA Signed SSH Keys are not supported in any of the popular SSH clients other than OpenSSH, most users on windows do not use the CLI OpenSSH as their client and its a hassle to expect them to switch.
I'm not talking about myself, or one other person. I'm talking about an enterprise with hundreds of admins and developers who do a LOT of ssh-ing. Having them all switch to something different than what they use now will be a show stopper for this whole project.
