Ask HN: How do startups measure MTTR and MTBF?

3 pointsby simplegeekalmost 7 years ago
MTTR = Mean time to repair MTBF = Mean time between failures
Hello, I recently read a DevOps book which placed lot of emphasise on measuring MTTR and MTBF.
I did Google this but didn't find a lot of information on the process of measuring it i.e. tools involved etc. We're a small engineering team using Github, Slack, Python, and Google cloud. My question is following.
How do you in your engineering teams measure MTTR and MTBF? Do you measure such time manually and keep that in database or have you automated it using some tools (if so, how)?
