I had classes with him for the last few years that he taught at UCSC. He never had a text book for his classes that I took (graph theory etc). He also almost never used his computer in his office it seemed and enjoyed the theory quite a bit more.<p>Fun classes but alas, he passed away a few years later from cancer.
