With Bloomberg having broken those 2 articles about Supermicro and the potential security threat to their hardware with this hardware "hack", I'm wondering if that would leave them open to any legal proceedings if they can't substantiate those claims, given the substantial hit Supermicro has taken as a direct result of those articles breaking ? Or are we safe to assume that they would have thought of that before breaking these stories and made sure they are legally airtight ?
I honestly just find the story very interesting, particularly the slight inconsistencies in their story. If some of what they're saying is untrue I would like to see them be held accountable in a similar fashion to Elon Musk tweeting about taking Tesla private 2 months ago.
Article 1: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies
Article 2: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-10-09/new-evidence-of-hacked-supermicro-hardware-found-in-u-s-telecom
Thanks !
