Ask HN: How to find a mentor?

3 pointsby jopxover 6 years ago
I'm a software developer with around 5 years of experience, I'm working mainly with Microsoft tech stack (backend and cloud).
In the last months I'm feeling a lack of motivation, not sure about what to study and how to improve. The people at my company are not really keen about learning new things and improving, those who are, work mainly remotely and aren't really friendly.
I started thinking that maybe my lack of motivation is because I don't share knowledgment with anyone, all my friends from college followed a management path.
Would like to know if someone from HN know how to approach someone more experienced, and where I can find people that are willing to share experience. (Currently living in Ireland, even tho there's a lot of tech companies, there's not much meetup's and things like this)
