Do you know of any examples of biological data being taken out of a country, and used in another country where the host country could have benefited from that data, but the taking country ended up benefiting instead?<p>Only looking for stories about data - not physical samples. Like, if Somalian researchers came to South Africa, collected samples & did some sequencing on fynbos, then took that information back to Somalia, and made new products / patents using the data - where they were the only ones to benefit from the data, and South Africa was left wondering how they ended up being so left out. (The countries used are examples, not meant to imply anything)
