Ask HN: Payment processor that remits sales taxes and accepts high risk merchant

1 pointsby Kal2efabout 6 years ago
My business is a SaaS and has customers from a lot of different countries with sales tax implications (US, Canada, EU, Brazil, India, Japan etc).
At the moment I use Paddle (https://paddle.com) for payments. They handle all sales related taxes and remit them on my behalf. The service they offer is great, but they won't allow adult content.
I've looked into other payment processors (2Checkout, Fastspring) which also remit sales taxes, but they have the same rule against adult content. This seems to be a pretty common rule.
To be clear, I'm aware that I could get a high risk merchant account and use Avalara, Quaderno or another automated service to automatically calculate sales tax and file the returns. However this is still an annoying (and costly) process as it results in signing up for sales tax in many different jurisdictions. So I'm looking for a way around all of that.
Are there any payment processors out there that will remit sales taxes and accept high risk merchants?
