Almost every other link I click on HN now has some sort of proprietary paywall. Assuming that even in an optimistic case where a user can and is willing to maintain a monthly subscription to only 1 out of the 30 blogs that ask for payment, isn’t there a lot of left over inventory that publications can sell cheaper to non-primary readers? And if so, can we expect to see a MoviePass/Spotify type system where 1 subscription will gain you access to many leading publications, like the NYT and WSJ?
