Ask HN: How to move from beginner to advanced in Python?

2 pointsby FiveSquaredalmost 6 years ago
So, I started learning to code in Dec. 2018. I quickly got into a level where I could write a CLI todo list and read and write to it. That was in March. Now, I plateaued. What can I do to a dance my python skills into a professional 10k+ LOC program.
Skills Unix command line (not grew, but pretty dang (get it?) close Tech proficiency up to the level of installing Hakiu OS for fun!
Ideas: A political simulator in CLI A GUI text editor A GUI todo list that is compatible with todo.txt A GUI platform game A forum (yes I know it requires web but back-end though)
Python Knowledge: Hello world For loops I/O A superficial understanding of OOP Automation Modules
Need to Know: Algorithms Simulation software Graphics A real understanding of OOP just not trial and error but know what to do How to manage large codebases How to contribute to open source python projects How to get into a porfrassioanl level (NOT: How to Master Python)
Time: 1 year.
