The venture capital investment model is mostly built to interface with C-corporations. Most businesses take another form of organizations. For example, limited partnerships have been a common way of organizing capital for film production and real estate development. The economics of the tech industries are attractive to the venture capital model, just as real-estate is attractive to long term investment by life insurance companies and pension funds.
