Better Alternative? Stripe's 'remember me' PREVENTS alternate (biz) card

4 pointsby pardneralmost 6 years ago
Would love some recommendations of an alternate card processor for web checkout with comparable ease of integration and fee structure to Stripe?
We currently use Stripe, and it's mostly awesome except for one incredibly bone-headed decision - the complete inability for people who got suckered into checking the 'remember me' box to use a different card for different types of purchases.
Stripe interprets "remember me" as "I never, ever want to use a different card for different types of purchases". Seems stupid to me, so I double-checked today by both chat and then a call with Stripe support:
1 - John Doe buys a personal item on Website A using a 'personal' card, and checks 'remember me'
2 - John Doe then comes to my B2B site and WANTS to buys something using their 'business' card.
3 - John Doe is out of luck, and therefore, you lose the order unless you also provide a non-Stripe option.
Seriously, once John Doe clicks 'remember me' he is locked into THAT one card, until he has support manually undo the remember-me', according to both of the Stripe support people I chatted/spoke with today, even after I had each of them escalate the question to be sure.
Stripe's only solution is "If you’re a customer and no longer want your information saved, or if you are a merchant who received a request from a customer to delete their information from the “Remember Me” service, [contact Stripe Support]."
Oh, and that support link Stripe provides in that message offers 5 support options NONE of which apply, with NO 'other' or 'email us at X' option. (Phone person said your customer can simply email support@stripe.com BTW)
Note, even if YOUR website disables the 'remember me' checkbox (an option they finally added after much back-and-forth on an older HN thread) YOUR B2B customers cannot use their business card to buy from you if they checked the box on another site when using a personal card.
