Ask HN: Applying Machine Learning to Earthquake Data

2 pointsby Josteniokalmost 6 years ago
Hi all, I'm from Ridgecrest, the site of the recent double earthquakes in California. It's been a crazy weekend where the entire town has become obsessed with whether or not we are going to have another big one or not. I noticed that the USGS has a lot of earthquake data available via API and I was wondering if anyone was working on applying machine learning techniques to that data. I found a few news articles discussing people doing this but I was wondering if anyone was doing something more open source, perhaps.
