I'm sure this will not be a popular opinion, but it's really too bad that more chemists don't have the altruistic drive to reverse engineer such things and open source them, so to speak. Maybe open source is the wrong term. Put the formulas and procedures on the dark web and dumb down the procedures enough for desperate amateur chemists to tinker with.
