I think that most deaths from snakebites are actually in places where the closest place to get treatment is pretty far
Another important factor is the lack of education in this subjects.
Many years ago I was running with friends in dunes next to the beach. One of my friends got bitten by snake
We were out of nowhere and because we were running my friend heartbeats were fast which caused the venom to run faster inside is body
One of the guys had a lot of knowledge about snakes and when we called the ambulance he told them the snake type, color, and made us carry our friend instead of letting him walk until the closest place the ambulance could pick him up to avoid the venom go even faster in his blood.
My friend survived
and I became a proud HN user
