I've been a self-taught programmer for over a decade now. I started out with variations of BASIC and game development. I moved onto many different languages/tools/goals and have settled in Web Development in the past few years. I've been considering going to back to school to earn a B.S in Computer Science. My biggest concern is that even with substantially larger revenue each year than I ever thought I'd achieve, I still am not at a point where I can afford to go to school and acquire more debt. I'm not really willing to gamble a stack of debt on the hopes that I'll be earning substantially more in the future.
I am really hoping that I can figure something out, however, because I would really like to pursue a formal education. So I'm coming here in hopes that someone might have some knowledge on the subject.
Is it possible to earn a B.S in Computer Science for free? If not free, is there a way to do it cheaper than normal?
