Ask HN: Why mobile Wikipedia loads MUCH faster than on desktop?

I have realized that Wikipedia loads follow-on links almost instant on mobile, but keeps loading 2-3 seconds on desktop. Does anyone know why that is the case?<p>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wells_Fargo
