I bought a touch-bar MBP sight-unseen when they were announced, being the early adopter and fanboy that I was at the time. That unit was spec'd to be about $4,500 USD but ultimately was replaced with a unit one year newer after it had received 5 repairs.
This new unit has been repaired 3 times already. I can tell it's pretty much the same laptop and the issues will continue. I've requested a refund in efforts to get my hands on a 16", being that they fixed the poor keyboard and hopefully other issues as well (my unit's display flickers, its ports eject devices at random, and of course the keyboard fails every 3-6 mos).
I've apparently chatted with Tim Cook's right-hand woman but she says no refund is possible at this time - despite the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act - and I was free to find a lawyer. This rubs a long-time customer the wrong way very strongly.
Ignoring the previous statement, has anyone had luck getting a refund for these faulty 15" Macbook Pro's (with touch bar) outside Apple's normal return window for new purchases..?
