Why is Reddit so hostile to mobile web users?

4 pointsby dscplsover 5 years ago
On small (mobile) devices, reddit is ridiculously aggressive about moving you to their app. Why?
The randomly shown modal where you have to tap carefully to continue in browser is pretty annoying.
Now image links don't open on tap any more. You have to tap, hold, and open in new tab.
Why don't they just let us use our browsers?
