Critical Apps Needed Fast to Combat Coronavirus Fall Out

1 pointsby typeformerover 5 years ago
I live in the USA and unlike in China certain elements of our mobile development and logistics networks are not as advanced. One thing is for certain, this virus is beyond containment, it is now a mitigation game until a proven vaccine can launch. In order to lesson the harm we need some community developed apps. Something we are likely to see next week is a run on the stores, and afterwards people will still need food but it will be more dangerous to go out and get it. In China communities worked around this by using mobile apps to bulk buy together and have food dropped off at specific designated sites in each neighborhood. While there are still some issues, especially for folks who are less digitally literate, in general this has worked. We don't have the same kind of grocery delivery penetration in the United States. It's typically a service reserved for those with excess disposable income. We should consider developing a community solution for this with the ability for anyone to become a delivery person similar to Amazon Flex. The delivery folks should have the ability to set their own minimum delivery fee based on what they feel is reasonable and take jobs they feel comfortable with. I'd like to read what folks think of this idea, as well as, andy other ideas people feel would be good to post in this thread, we may need all of them. DM me if your serious and would like to work on something I'm happy to lend my design skills.
