I live with professional musicians in the Bay Area. Live stream shows have gotten really popular all of a sudden because everyone lost all of their gigs. Zoom’s audio quality is too low. Twitch has the best sound quality of the major platforms but isn’t set up for multiple hosts. Is there a good platform out there for running an online music festival?
Twitch's community is mostly gamers. There is a critical mass of out of work musicians making content that an online virtual music festival environment could be really compelling right now. This quickly goes down the rabbithole towards "build the metaverse" but the year now is 2020 and the metaverse is slightly overdue.
My roommate Cassandra Lewis is playing today at 7PM Pacific time. https://www.facebook.com/events/1124539067909664/ Our house's twitch account is http://twitch.tv/sueassociates. We play video games with music on in the background and occasionally break into improv jam sessions.
