Ask HN: What FOSS cloud backup tool is reliable?

2 pointsby devilkinabout 5 years ago
I'm currently looking for a reliable cloud backup tool. There are several, but they all have their issues... and I'm getting a bit lost.
Things I'm looking for:
* dedup
* compression
* encryption
* upload to cloud
* reliable
* opensource (preferably with a friendly license)
* usable on linux
It'll be something in the ballpark of 600GB - 1TB that I want to backup to cloud.
These are the ones I am currently looking at:
Restic: looks nice, but ... https://forum.rclone.org/t/rclone-as-destination-for-borgbackup/12717/9
Duplicity: no dedup
Duplicati: beta forever. I'm reading a lot of things about database rebuild issues, issues with big datasets. Mono app, not a huge fan but not a dealbreaker
Duplicacy: Looks great except for the license. I don't mind paying for a good product, but... https://github.com/gilbertchen/duplicacy/blob/master/LICENSE.md
BorgBackup: No cloud support (except for SSH)
Am I missing anything? Is there anything people can comment on any of the above products?
