Ask HN: Where to find companies that don't ask leetcode questions in interviews?

2 pointsby cuttyalmost 5 years ago
I'm a SWE 2 in the Bay Area. As many of you know, interviews here are mostly based on leetcode/algorithms problems. I'm tired of the grind and refuse to partake in that process anymore. I'd rather spend my free time learning things relevant to my job or working on projects. I plan to stay in California (don't know exactly where yet), but am looking for a fully remote gig. I'm okay with talking about my experience and technologies I've used in the interview. I'm okay with working on a take home project. I'm not okay with getting hazed for 5 hours on inverting binary trees and trapping rain water and finding the maximum subarray of k sorted lists in O(1) time while doing a DFS on a graph and patting my head with one hand and rubbing with stomach with the other hand. Fuck that. Where can I find companies with sane interview practices?
