I am not sure if this is the best place to post this, but figure a good place to ask the question: Is there a way we could use ventilation systems to help make it possible to open schools earlier?
The hypothesis I am working from is that the spread of Covid is based on air transmission. If we could make being “inside” similar to being “outside” (ideally with high grade filters), perhaps that would help justify opening of schools.
The added longer term benefit would be a reduction of other germs, and would likely increase learning by students as well (there being studies showing increased air quality seems to have a measurable increase in academic performance).
Thoughts on this? Costs aside could it even make a difference?
