Ask HN: Does reading too much make you cynical?

1 pointsby ibn-pythonalmost 5 years ago
Was wondering if anyone else felt this way. I tend to read a lot of nonfiction, mostly books and online articles. Books usually trend towards topics on sociology, economics, statistics, and politics. My online reading is usually within the rationalist blogosphere (SlateStarCodex, LessWrong, Melting Asphalt, Ribbonfarm etc.) and of course HN.<p>Taking breaks from these readings tend to make me feel better about the world but it&#x27;s become such an ingrained habit it is hard to stop. Was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar?
