Althought I find a comparison between wordpress and SSGs very interesting, the example given here is very limited and I'd say wrong. You can combine SSGs with a CMS and write your blog posts there. Yes, the initial setup would be more costly than firing up a wordpress instance, but the UX would pretty much be the same. A user would login to the CMS, write a new post, hit publish and a CI task would re-deploy the website containing the new post.
