Ask HN: How to facilitate growth of open access journals?

I exist outside the research community and do not publish in peer reviewed journals. I benefit when researchers publish in free open-access peer-reviewed journals. There are examples of amazing platforms [0], but as a reader I don&#x27;t see how to incentivize the research community to move towards open-access journals.
