Ask HN: How is Amazon's Luna Game service allowed on iOS?

6 pointsby greatjack613over 4 years ago
I know that apple recently banned stadia and microsoft xcloud from the app store as they allow access to games that apple cannot individually review. I wonder how Amazon Luna is going to get around this ban as they announced that Luna will have an IOS app. Do they have a deal with apple? Or are they going to put each game that you want to play through luna as its own individual app on the app store for apple to review?
Any Ideas?

It's offered as a web app on Safari.
> Amazon is getting around those restrictions by running Luna as a "progressive web application" that runs on iOS only in the Safari browser, without an App Store listing at all.
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/09/amazon-announces-stre...
