It is the only theme digital policies out of Germany were able to deliver the last years. Sad, but I don't see Germany becoming a relevant country for digital services. And no, privacy protections mentioned in the constitution (basic law) aren't relevant. The US has the same problem to a degree, you can just ignore protections for national security.<p>As a German I would like to strengthen transatlantic corporation but the US should lead with their principles of freedom, not Germany with their principles of being afraid.
