I got quite disillusioned working as a software developer. I couldn't stand it anymore and it became a source of boredom and stress for me.<p>About a decade ago, I discovered a passion for writing. I knew I wanted to stay in the corporate world. I didn't do anything about it because I was salivating from the six digit salary.<p>Eventually, I gave up, and switched to a technical writing gig. I've been enjoying so much more than my previous career. I make way less money than before, but at least I'm enjoying my work. I've been a part-time Uber driver for a while which also has been more fun than software development.<p>I'm very curious about those who moved out of CS. I've heard anecdotes of those who started clubs and bars because of their avolition. Where did you go once you left this engineering field?
This question has been asked many times, I've seen very few constructive answers, the most common success story being starting a startup/becoming a founder. Usually someone says they tried management and they hated it. Some say product, but those roles are hard to transition into
