The Midas list is primarily valuable to LPs. It tells us who bet on winners, but is that really helpful to most early stage founders?<p>Sancus was the god of trust, honesty and oaths. I would rather know which VCs exemplify these qualities than someone who died of starvation because of his vain wish for the “golden touch”.<p>Which VCs have shown you loyalty, ESPECIALLY when times are tough? Extra points for the VCs that spent time with you when it was time to wind-down your venture.
Following this. It's my experience that for all the rhetoric about VCs being ultra-helpful at the end of the day the success of any venture lies with the founders/operators - the VCs can merely allocate some time, monetary capital or social capital to push things in the right direction. But that can be a huge lever.<p>Good question here!
