&gt;&gt; &quot; We divested networking back in the &#x27;90s, we divested PCs back in the 2000s, we divested semiconductors about five years ago because all of them didn’t necessarily play into the integrated value proposition,&quot;<p>In Summary: We&#x27;ve routinely chipped away at our own value, rather than innovating and improving our products.

Divesting is much better than acquiring in general in my opinion. Divesting allows for greater focus which Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, and Muhammad Ali all agree is the key to their success. Acquisitions usually destroy a business and slow down the acquirer with net economic losses.
