This is fascinating and would be really useful for manufacturing better furniture. The software demo looks really impressive and seems to consider lots of interesting conditions. I know traditional dovetails are hard to beat in strength but have heard that things like castle joints aren't super strong. The article has a photo featuring a joint on the seat of a chair - would a joint like that hold up any better or worse than a traditional mortise and tenon?
