When Vice President Lyndon B Johnson was visiting Helsinki he distributed free pens to the crowd. It was considered very rude as if this was some poor third world country. They were however very special permanent ink pens, and when we tried to use them in school, they were immediately banned. Using quill pen and ink bottle was most essential skill.
