Ask HN: How to find interest based online communities?

1 pointsby kaashmoneeover 4 years ago
I think it would be great to have a space where people could discuss interesting papers and/or projects related to a topic of their choice.
For me, I'd love to join a community to discuss topics/ideas in functional programming, ML-family languages, etc.
Do people have any suggestions on platforms that they've used that have worked in the past?

I am building that(for all interests) here at Noomi[1]. (Link to get yourself registered for early access)
Regarding specific communities, HN, Github, and stackoverflow does a great job of finding other people interested in programming. Reddit has a few subreddits dedicated to the same too.
[1]: https://getnoomi.com
