The thing is that that you never change. You never <i>feel</i> older. Mind you, you <i>do</i> get a surprise when you look in the mirror and think "Shit! Who is <i>that</i> old bastard?"<p>All my life I have felt that I was about 22. It is as though I got older in my youth until I reached 22 and then just stopped there.<p>I am now 75. There is nothing I could think of less than to say "I'm going to stop NOW." After all, I might miss out on something.
Said the guy in his 50s.<p>Mick Jagger who claimed he would rather be dead than singing "Satisfaction" at 40 seems to have changed his mind on the subject now that he is in his mid-70s.<p>I'm sure when The Who sang "My Generation" years before I was even born thought the same. In that song they famously wish to die before getting old. They still tour to this day though and still sing "My Generation" with band members now in their mid 70s.
